In response, PHS Group, the US sanitary waste management company, has developed a new technology that converts waste items such as used hygiene products, diapers, and incontinence pads into fuel and converts it into energy.
The technology, called LifeCycle, has been granted an international patent. The principle is to remove the water from the commercial health waste, and the rest is clean burning “junk-derived fuelâ€, and then burn it to generate energy. .
PHS said that this technology can process 10 tons of sanitary waste per hour, and the company's goal is to achieve "zero landfill" for its customers' waste before the end of this year.
