Solliance develops large-scale perovskite photovoltaic modules with conversion efficiency of approximately 10%

Perovskite solar cell module consisting of 25 battery cells

"Solliance", a European-related technology alliance of thin-film solar cells, announced that it has developed a perovskite solar cell module about 15cm square. The module conversion efficiency is 10%, which is very high in the same area module. The opening area is 168cm2, close to 13cm square.

This module is manufactured by forming a thin film such as an active layer on a glass substrate by using a doctor blade coating process, and then patterning the 25 battery cells with a laser. Each cell is connected in series using Solliance's unique wiring technology.

The key point of this technology is that almost any perovskite solar cell module with a conversion efficiency of about 10% can be produced by connecting a plurality of battery cells.

At present, the highest conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells is 22.1%, which was developed by Korea Research Institute of Chemistry (KRICT) and University of Ulsan, South Korea (UNIST), but its cell area is only 0.1cm2. If you increase the area of cells and modules, the conversion efficiency will be reduced.

Solliance plans to use this new technology as a basis to improve its conversion efficiency. The organization said, "We are confident that more than 15% of module efficiency will be achieved in the near future." (Reporter: Nozawa Tetsuo)
