CIHS'09 live up to expectations

Due to the changes in the domestic and international economic situation, especially the huge potential growth and attractiveness of the Chinese hardware market, this year's China International Hardware Exhibition (CIHS'09) has received much attention and expectation.

It is understood that CIHS'09 will be held from September 16th to 18th at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. This year, more than 2,000 companies participated in the exhibition, including nearly 200 overseas exhibitors from 17 countries and regions. The scale of the exhibition maintained the level of the previous 103,500 square meters. The number of pre-registration visitors from both domestic and overseas will exceed the previous one. It is expected that the number of professional visitors will be 50,000, including over 4,500 overseas buyers. For this year's industry situation, Chairman Zhang Dongli analyzed that after the last exhibition, due to the impact of the financial crisis on the real economy, the Chinese hardware industry has encountered unprecedented difficulties. Affected by unfavorable factors such as severe shrinkage of external demand, sluggish domestic demand, shortage of funds, and rising costs, the output value of the whole industry in the fourth quarter of last year and the first half of this year showed a low growth rate that had not been seen for many years, and the total volume of imports and exports showed a negative growth. Under the situation that the series of policies and economic stimulus plans issued by the state to ensure growth, expand domestic demand, adjust structure, and benefit the people's livelihood have been gradually implemented, and the macroeconomic environment has been gradually improved, especially the “expanding domestic demand” has achieved remarkable results. Confidence in overcoming difficulties has increased and measures have become more active and powerful. In the second quarter, the industry turned around and the growth rate dropped sharply. Since the third quarter, the entire industry has shown a good momentum of steady recovery.

In order to combine the new development situation, Director Zhang introduced that this year's exhibition is based on the orientation of “technical orientation and market orientation” and the guidelines for “stable scale, rich content, improved level and greater value”. He also proposed the concept of “transaction, communication, and friendship”. Focusing on the above points, this year's exhibition layout and product division, the establishment of new product exhibition areas; strengthening new products, new technologies, new design awards and recognition and publicity. Guide and promote new product development and technological innovation in the industry; actively expand the domestic demand market, consolidate the export market, invest huge manpower, material resources and financial resources to attract investment and publicity, effectively integrate the resources of buyers; carefully organize the number of industries beyond previous years A lot of fruitful work has been done in terms of “transactions, exchanges, making friends” and seminars in technology and market.
