Japan developed a pepper mosaic virus vaccine

The Central Central Agricultural Research Center of Japan and Kyoto Prefecture have jointly developed a pepper mosaic disease vaccine, which is expected to replace the methyl bromide pesticide.
According to "Nippon Agricultural News" reported on the 21st, the vaccine is based on the pepper mosaic virus, and the virus is applied with specific temperature and humidity conditions to make a vaccine. Inoculation of this vaccine to pepper seedlings can effectively inhibit the onset of capsicum mosaic disease without soil disinfection.

To facilitate the spread of vaccines, researchers are investigating the vaccination of peppers in a simple way by spraying with aqueous solutions. If 70% of the peppers used are used, the effect of increasing the benefits will be obvious.

In addition, experiments have shown that the use of this vaccine can also increase the vitamin C content of pepper by 50%. The researcher of the Central Agricultural Research Pest Research Institute, Tsuda, said that the reason for the increase in vitamin content is still unclear, probably because the vaccine has played a role in increasing the vitamin C gene.
