(1) Product design

For example, the shape design of the car is an extremely important aspect of the car. In the past, the shape model of the foam was used to make the shape model. It took many evaluations and modifications, which was time-consuming and labor-intensive. The shape design using virtual reality modeling can be modified and evaluated at any time. The model data after the solution is determined can be directly used for stamping mold design, simulation and processing, and even for advertising and publicity. In the design of other products (such as: aircraft, construction and decoration, household appliances, cosmetics packaging, etc.), there are great advantages.

(2) Product layout design

In the layout design of complex products, virtual reality technology can be used to intuitively design to avoid possible interference and other unreasonable problems. For example, machine layout, pipe laying, logistics systems, etc. in plant and shop design require the support of this technology. In complex piping systems and hydraulic manifold designs, designers can “enter” the piping arrangements and check for possible interference and other errors. In the interior design of cars and airplanes, “intuitive” is the most effective tool, and virtual reality technology can play an irreplaceable positive role.

(3) Motion simulation of mechanical products

In the product design stage, it is necessary to solve the motion coordination relationship, the motion range design, and the possible motion interference check of the moving member during the movement.

(4) Product assembly simulation

There are thousands of parts in mechanical products to be assembled together. The design and assembly of the products are the mistakes that designers often make. They often cannot be found until the final assembly of the product, resulting in the scrapping of the parts and the delay of the construction period. Timely delivery results in huge economic losses and loss of reputation. Virtual reality technology can be used to verify at the design stage to ensure the correct design.

(5) Product process simulation

Product processing is a complex process. Reasonable product design, processability, processing methods and machine tool selection, processing defects that may occur during processing, etc., are sometimes not easy to find and determine during design, and must be simulated and analyzed. For example, the shape of the stamping part or the design of the stamping die is unreasonable, which may cause warpage and cracking of the stamping part, resulting in waste. The shape of the casting or the design of the mold and gate is unreasonable, and it is easy to produce casting defects or even scrap. The structural design of the machined parts is unreasonable, which may result in inability to process, or the processing accuracy cannot be guaranteed, or special processing must be used, which increases the processing cost and processing cycle. Through simulation, problems can be discovered in advance, and design or other measures can be taken to ensure the construction period and product quality.
