Mahogany furniture must be implemented according to the new national standard

The 2000 edition of the National Standard for Mahogany Furniture defines 33 types of mahogany wood in 5 categories and 8 categories. The national standard indicates to consumers which wood can be called "redwood". However, in recent years, due to the continued popularity of mahogany furniture , the corresponding wood is increasingly scarce, and there are also calls for expanding the type of mahogany in the industry. At the same time, some mahogany furniture companies are worried that expanding the range of wood types will disrupt the market. In August last year, the compulsory national standard "General Technical Conditions for Mahogany Furniture" was implemented. The national standard requires that mahogany furniture products should have three guarantee documents, including the product manual, product quality card and product certification, and the preparation and content of the documents. It was regulated. The national standard also stipulates, "Six months after the implementation of this standard, the market will stop selling products that do not meet this standard."

This also means that after the 6-month buffer period, from February 1 this year, this mandatory mahogany furniture national standard will be officially implemented, and non-compliant furniture products will be discontinued. The "New National Standard" clearly stipulates that each piece of mahogany furniture must be equipped with a "mahogany furniture product quality express card", and the manufacturer must specify the furniture product implementation standards, product process classification, product quality level, and product on the express card. Scope of application, main materials of the product, product finishing and decoration technology, etc. The merchant ’s products must not only be clearly marked, but also have uniform label specifications. If consumers find that the product is "out of stock", they can use the express card as evidence of appeals and claims.
