According to the latest statistics of the American Manufacturing Technology Association, in March 2013, the US metal processing machine tool orders amounted to 510 million US dollars, an increase of 30.4% from the previous month and 3.2% year-on-year; the order volume was 2,333 units, an increase of 202 units from the previous month, a decrease of 157 units. Douglas Woods, president of the American Manufacturing Technology Association, said that both orders and the year-on-year increase, reflecting the fact that with the improvement of automobile sales and housing market, the increase in consumer spending has gradually driven the development of the US manufacturing industry. 
According to statistics, the US orders for metal forming machine tools in March were US$470 million, up 33.1% from the previous month, up 3.7% year-on-year, with 2,191 orders. Forming machine tools were US$39.83 million, up 5.9% from the previous month, down 1.9% year-on-year, with 142 orders. .
In the first quarter of 2013, the US metal processing machine tool orders amounted to 1.28 billion US dollars, down 5.0% year-on-year, and the order volume was 6,535 units. Among them, the metal cutting machine tool orders amounted to 1.16 billion US dollars, down 6.7% year-on-year, and the order volume was 6,127 units. Orders for machine tools amounted to US$120 million, a year-on-year increase of 15.2%, and orders were 408 units.
From the perspective of machine tool orders in the first quarter, the demand for machine tools in the five federal states in the northeastern central and northern United States and the nine federal states in the northwestern central and ten western states are still increasing, in the northeast, south central and southeast regions. Orders have fallen year on year.
