Seco's Aeromaster high-efficiency forming cutters are designed for aerospace manufacturing of aluminum, slot milling, pocket milling and cavity milling with high cutting speeds and high metal removal rates. According to Seco, the user achieved a metal removal rate of 345 in3/min using a 2" diameter Aeromaster double groove forming cutter.
The Aeromaster range includes 1.25" to 2" cylindrical shank high efficiency forming cutters, 2" to 4" stripping knives and 1.25" to 1.5" upper and lower sets of modular Combimaster milling cutters. These tools are available with Seco VPGX 2206 inserts and allow a maximum depth of cut of 0.395 in.
Smaller Aeromaster tools include: 1" to 1.5" cylindrical shank milling cutters, 2" stripping knives or 1" to 1.5" modular Combimaster cutters. These bodies are equipped with Seco's XPKX 12T3 inserts, allowing for maximum depth of cut. It is 0.295".
