In recent years, the sales revenue of vehicle manufacturers has increased by an average of 28.75% per year, while the sales revenue of auto parts companies has increased by an average of 36.82% per year, which is higher than the industry average. The rise in the aggregate indicator outlines the continuous expansion of the scale of China's parts and components industry. As a support for the development of China's automobile industry, China's auto parts industry is showing four major trends.
The industrial cluster has taken shape. At the end of 2009, with the leadership of Liuzhou, the Guangxi auto parts industry cluster that radiated Guilin, Nanning and Yulin was officially launched. This industrial cluster takes the development of new and new energy vehicles and engines as a breakthrough, fosters independent brands, and jointly breaks through the technological bottleneck of industrial development and forms a new competitive advantage. Innovative ability improvement In recent years, a number of innovative parts and components enterprises in China have rapidly emerged, deepening the specialized market segments, and mastering the core competitiveness of advanced products through continuous innovation. According to statistics, there are currently 7 state-level high-tech enterprises and nearly 100 provincial-level high-tech enterprises in China's auto parts industry. The improvement of innovation capability, especially the improvement of key components and innovation capabilities, has given new market positions for self-owned brand auto parts.
The engine is the "heart" of the car, and domestic automakers Chery, Brilliance, and SAIC have successively launched engines with independent intellectual property rights in the past two years. Overseas M&A Welcomes Good Opportunities The continued downturn in the global auto market means that China's auto parts industry will have more opportunities to go global.
If the overseas acquisition of parts and components in progress is taken into account, there have been more than 10 overseas acquisitions of local parts companies in the second half of 2009. The global financial crisis has given the best opportunities for local parts suppliers to leapfrog development. However, it is generally not beneficial to Chinese component companies. It is best for local parts manufacturers to take precautions and use the best time to acquire overseas high-quality assets or technologies to make them grow faster and prepare for the future integration.
The pace of mergers and acquisitions is accelerating At present, the sales of most parts and components enterprises in China are relatively low. Compared with multinational giants with sales of up to 10 billion US dollars, the scale of China's parts and components enterprises is obviously small. At present, China's auto parts industry is more fragmented than the whole vehicle industry. There are more than 5,000 parts and components manufacturers, and the survival status of independent parts and components enterprises is worrying.
According to statistics, the market share of the top 100 companies in the domestic parts industry only accounts for 50% of the entire industry, far lower than the concentration of other countries (regions). Although the overall revenue of the parts industry reached 837 billion yuan in 2008, 80% of the above-scale enterprises have sales revenue of less than 100 million yuan. Only 43% of the parts and components in the industry have patents, and less than 20% have invention patents. In this context, if the parts industry wants to develop rapidly, it must speed up mergers and acquisitions and form a scale effect.
