Coal seam "white space" is 1.15 billion tons of coking coal

On March 26, it was learned from the Geological Survey of Shanxi Province that a rich coal seam was discovered in the Wanrong-Linyi region that was designated as a “vacant area” of coal reserves, and the estimated recoverable coal seam was about 1.15 billion tons.

Because the surface is covered with thick loess, Wanrong County and Linfen County are considered to be regionally constructed, and there are no conditions for the occurrence of coal resources in this area. In 2007, the Provincial Geological Engineering Investigation Institute found signs of coal seams in the drilling of water wells at the junction of Wanrong and Linyi counties. Subsequently, the hospital conducted a number of two-dimensional seismic tests to overcome the difficulties of loose layer thickness and serious leakage, and conducted construction drilling in the middle of the exploration area. In 2009, the pre-inspection work preliminarily determined that the main recoverable coal seam is 1 layer with a thickness of 3.16 to 4.30 meters and the coal quality is coking coal. The coal deposits in the central exploration area are bounded by 46.74 square kilometers and the recoverable resources are about 228 million tons. From 2011 to 2012, a sequel was carried out on the basis of preliminary investigations to understand roughly the distribution scope of the coal-bearing strata in the exploration area. The coal seam has an area of ​​about 270 square kilometers, and it is estimated that the recoverable coal seam reserves will be about 1.15 billion tons.

Wanrong--expanding rich coal seams in Linyi area, proposed a new understanding of the demarcation of the southeastern margin of the Ordos Basin. At the same time, the discovery of coal seams in this area has a very positive effect on China's resource exploration and regional research.
