Electronic tags are becoming an important catcher for gas cylinder safety management

Gas cylinders are the largest number of special equipment in China. According to estimates, the total number of cylinders in use in China has exceeded 100 million. The safety of gas cylinders involves thousands of households. What is the quality level? What are the hidden concerns of the industry development? How to make the gas cylinder industry more reassuring? Starting today, the newspaper launched a series of reports focusing on the quality and safety of gas cylinders, aiming to explore and think about this series of issues.

Gas cylinders, on the one hand, bring convenience to people's production and life, on the other hand, they can also be called "invisible bombs."

Reports on gas cylinder explosions have been commonplace this year. On April 19, a gas cylinder explosion occurred at the demolition site of the old building of the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University, and four wounded people were seriously injured. On June 29, a ceremonial company in Babiantong Town, Muling City, Heilongjiang Province, produced hydrogen in the backyard of the company in violation of regulations. The gas cylinder exploded, causing one death and two injuries. On August 4th, a liquefied gas cylinder in the household of the chemical industry street in Xigu District, Lanzhou, Gansu Province suddenly exploded, causing one person in the household to be injured on the spot. A pedestrian in the community was scratched by a splash of window glass.

In the context of the development of the Internet of Things, the promotion and application of electronic tags is expected to add "fuse" to dangerous cylinders. Recently, the second China Gas Industry RFID and Internet of Things Forum held in Beijing has once again focused on electronic tags.

There is an "identity card" at the factory.

RFID technology is a kind of automatic identification technology, also known as radio frequency identification technology, commonly known as electronic tags. It uses wireless radio frequency for contactless two-way communication to achieve identification purposes and exchange data.

Tang Qianjin, research and development center of the Internet of Things Technology of the Third Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, pointed out that in the era of the Internet of Things, people, cars and things are connected together, and the marriage of dangerous chemicals and the Internet of Things has become an unstoppable development trend. And electronic label is an important way to realize the information management of dangerous chemicals. The electronic label as the unique identifier of the cylinder is equivalent to the "ID card" of the cylinder.

So how does the electronic label dynamically monitor the entire process of the item? Taking the gas cylinder as an example, the gas cylinder transceiver department sends the externally sent gas cylinder to the inspection department for inspection. After passing the test, the electronic label is pasted on the gas cylinder, and the gas cylinder label information is identified and data through the handheld reader. Write, and then upload the data to the database management center through the computer serial port; for the newly purchased gas cylinder, the inspection department directly pastes the electronic label, and then uploads the data through the handheld reader. In order to get a clearer picture of each cylinder, a separate "test-scan reading-input database", ie the entire bottle, is carried out before the cylinder is filled. After the cylinder is inflated (liquid), the filling information, including the filling medium, weight, expiration date, etc., is uploaded to the central database for management through the reader, that is, the filling process. After the filling is completed, it is put into the warehouse by the logistics department. When the goods are delivered, the logistics personnel scan the label and write the information, such as the customer, destination and delivery time, to be sent to the database center, so as to keep track of the gas. The location, status, etc. of the bottle.

Full monitoring of all links

In recent years, accidents in the transportation of dangerous chemicals have occurred. Some foreign researchers analyzed 3222 dangerous chemicals from 1926 to 1997 and concluded that 54% of accidents occurred in fixed facilities, 41% occurred in transportation, and 5% were both.

Wang Hongyu, deputy director of the Satellite Navigation Industrialization Center of China Communications and Communication Information Center, said that in the face of the frequent occurrence of dangerous goods transportation accidents, networked joint control work is particularly important. He said that the current positioning of vehicles and monitoring of information through satellites will increase the tracking of items in the future, including dangerous chemicals such as gas cylinders.

For the networked joint control work, the relevant departments have developed a series of standards covering all technologies from the terminal to the platform. Wang Hongyu said that the number of vehicles connected to the network is about 1.04 million, including a large number of dangerous goods transport vehicles. There are about 190,000 national dangerous goods transport vehicles registered, a large part of which is luck and transportation. Almost all of the oil has entered the regulatory system.

Wang Hongyu revealed that Zhejiang is currently piloting a demonstration project for the exchange of information on transportation and logistics in the country, and the statistics on the transportation of dangerous goods are very accurate.

Focus on national standards

The introduction of standards for electronic tags and Internet of Things has attracted the attention of all parties. Wang Lijian, director of the overall group of the National Electronic Labeling Standards Working Group, believes that in the management of hazardous chemicals, when applying Internet of Things technology, RFID technology or sensor technology, it is necessary to focus on national standards and use international standards with caution. He believes that the question now is what standards are most urgently needed to be addressed in the process of managing the application of IoT technology in the hazardous chemicals and gas cylinder industries and using information technology to move forward.

Wang Lijian added that to promote the development of the Internet of Things and electronic tags, it is necessary to upgrade the three technologies of RFID, sensors and 2D barcodes. In addition, the most critical technology is the identification technology, also known as the object identifier. The development of standards should focus on addressing these aspects.

At present, Shanghai, Chongqing, Shandong, Ningxia and other places have successively carried out safety supervision of gas cylinders based on electronic labels, and made certain progress. Wang Lijian believes that the promotion of electronic labels does not necessarily adopt a set of coding systems throughout the country, and can learn from the management of telephone numbers. Establish a system of self-management, but be well connected and internationally connected.

There is still an immature place for the comprehensive promotion and application of gas cylinder electronic labels. To this end, China Industrial Gas Industry Association established the China Gas Cylinder Electronic Label Industry Alliance on September 23, aiming at promoting the information management level of China's gas industry. To lay a solid foundation for the ultimate establishment of an information network targeting gas cylinder safety management.
