Glass insulator engineering technology center project

China Machinery Industry Federation approved the construction plan of the fourth batch of mechanical industrial engineering (technical) research centers and key (engineering) laboratories, and made clear that the mechanical industry glass insulator engineering technology center was established in Nanjing Electric (Group) Co., Ltd.

The center represents the main direction of research and development of domestic glass insulators. It will mainly develop and produce toughened glass insulator products for users of high-voltage transmission and transformation systems, as well as key technology research.

The declaration work for mechanical industrial engineering technology centers and key laboratories is conducted once every two years. Each industry only selects one powerful, qualified, and capable enterprise construction engineering and technology center.

The construction period of the center project is two years, from September 2012 to September 2014.

In terms of scientific and technological innovation, the center will focus on the promotion of technological innovation in domestic glass insulators. It will focus on major technological issues in the development of the industry, continue to research and develop, provide ultra-high voltage tempered glass insulators, and promote technological upgrading and scientific and technological progress in related industries in China. We have made innovative achievements in the research and development of key technologies and applied them to the products of "UHV AC and DC toughened glass insulators."

In terms of technical services, the center will implement open services and accept engineering, research, design, testing, and complete sets of technical services entrusted by companies, institutions of higher education, research institutes, etc., and provide consulting for the promotion of their achievements, and accelerate the achievement of Industrialization. At the same time, through the development of multi-channel and multi-form scientific and technological cooperation and exchange, the research and development level of domestic glass insulation technology will be improved, and the gap between China and the international advanced level will be shortened.

In terms of personnel training, the center will accelerate the development of high-level professionals in research, development, production, and management. The research direction is based on high-voltage insulation technology. Schools and enterprises jointly cultivate graduate students. The center's mid- and long-term goal is to complete an engineering technology research and development platform leading to the development of the glass insulator industry of the machinery industry, a cooperation platform for production, study and research, and a high-level talent introduction and cultivation platform in 5 to 10 years.

It is reported that the construction of the center will follow the principle of “constructing, researching, and opening up,” and at the same time it will focus on improving research and service capabilities, and play a role in promoting the technological progress of the machinery industry through various means. After the completion of its construction work, it will submit an application for acceptance to the China Machinery Industry Federation, and will officially list after passing the experience.
